The seat goes way up to the front, so a shorter person can find a comfortable position. (It also goes way back, so a tall person will ride comfortably, also.) I find that I usually am holding on to the handles next to the seat as that is where the heart rate monitor contacts are. The seat feels good on the back - good lumbar support. And it is nicely padded. I can plug in my iPod (or any mp3 player) and it has speakers in the console. Much better than wearing headphones! It has volume controls on the display panel. It is quite heavy, but has little wheels in the front so you can pick up the rear and wheel it around. The UPS guy was happy that he did not have to negotiate any steps to get the big, heavy box inside - I put the bike in my attached garage. So far I have no complaints at all and enjoyed my first ride. It took about 2 hours to assemble, and they give you all the hardware and tools - 4 Allen wrenches - that you need to assemble it. It gives you a good workout and does just what it was listed to do. The only problem I had with the delivery is that the box had gotten open and was resealed. The only thing missing was the assembly instruction. With a quick call to the company they sent those to me within 3 days. They also gave me the option for faxing them.
